Introduction: It is time to
start digging for information on the novel Holes by Louis Sachar.
We will start our adventure by digging up some information on the author then we
will research the area surrounding the setting of the book.
We will also dig up a list of major characters for the novel. Try not to
step on any yellow spotted lizards...

Task: Your mission is to begin creating a brochure about Holes. We will begin by finding information about the novel's exposition. Remember: the exposition introduces the background information for the story and introduces the characters and setting.
Process and Resources:

he experienced while writing the book; award he has won for the novel;
where he was born and lives. For the characters, include name, nickname,
and short description.

***Now you are ready to REALLY start digging. Your mission? To collect information on the geography of West Texas. Include:
1. Choose an animal and answer the following questions:
Animal: Name, Size, Color, Description, where it is located, interesting facts about it;
2. Geographical Area:
Facts about the temperature, rainfall, vegetation, and the geography of west Texas

When we print this brochure, the left will be the character page; the middle will be the setting and animal information; right side will be the title, picture (drawn by you later ), author, and author information. After printing, you will draw a picture of Camp Green Lake on the full inside page.
